Fixed Center Drives

Fixed Center Variable Speed Pulley Drives Engineering

Built with the following components:
1. Mechanically Adjustable Pulley
2. Spring-Loaded Pulley
Fixed center drives employ two variable pitch diameter pulleys connected by a V-belt. Unlike the adjustable center design where the motor base moves, here, one pulley is manually adjusted while the other compensates automatically. Mounted on the motor shaft, this pulley can be adjusted manually using a screw mechanism to increase or decrease its diameter. Located on the driven shaft, this pulley automatically adjusts its diameter to accommodate changes in belt tension caused by the adjustable pulley. By modifying the diameter of the mechanically adjustable pulley, the belt's position between the two pulleys changes, altering the effective diameter of both pulleys and resulting in speed variation.
